We Believe

  • That every person of every race, religion, culture and level of ability, has dignity and intrinsic value and is entitled to the rights of every person.

  • That the Spirit of God, through a loving community, calls each person to be free to express their individual identity, to work, to welcome, to love, and  to have hope in things to come.

  • That a community must function in the humbling reality of its weakness and fragility and with this wisdom turn evermore to God to become fully alive.

A Living Legacy

Harvest Community was established in 1975 for the purpose of improving the life of persons with intellectual disabilities. The rural location was made possible by the gift of land from the Kinsmen Foundation. Houses and a barn were moved on to this location and the gardens and shelter belts were planted.

Sustainability and self-sufficiency have always been a part of our philosophy. Our unique program offers a variety of environmentally friendly recycling projects. The greenhouse, garden and Saskatoon berry orchard and bee-keeping provide outside work activities.  The work center, made possible by donations from many benefactors, was built in 1981. Light industrial manufacturing, assembly projects, and administrative offices are housed there.

Harvest Community enhances quality of life of our participants.  Work activities , community engagement, recreation, and rural activities are offered at our facility southeast of Regina, Saskatchewan.

We provide participants with positive and diversified work and recreational opportunities year round.
